The Existence of God
# **🌷 The Existence of God 🌷**
The Vedas firmly affirm the existence of God and are the foremost proponents of theism. They strongly oppose atheism. Yet, in this world, there are some individuals who do not accept the existence of God. The Vedas express astonishment at the intellect of such persons and rebuke them:
**“Na taṃ vidatha ya imā jajānā
Anyad yuṣmākam antaraṃ babhūva |
Nīhāreṇa prāvṛtā jalpyā cā
Asutṛpa ukthaśāsaś cyayanti ||”**
— *Ṛgveda 10.82.7*
**Meaning:**
*You do not know Him who has created all this. Your indwelling Lord is different from you. But people, being enveloped in ignorance, indulge in vain talk and remain busy in satisfying the cravings of their physical life.*
Now we shall try to establish the existence of God through reasoning and the sequence of creation.

## **Atoms and the Necessity of an Intelligent Regulator**
Everything in the world is formed by the combination of atoms—this fact is accepted even by atheists. But how did these atoms combine? The atheist claims that atoms combined on their own. This assumption is false. Atoms, being inert and devoid of intellect, cannot unite by themselves.
The power that combines these atoms is called *Paramātmā*, the Supreme Soul.
Just as creation requires the combination of atoms, their separation also takes place. That separation too cannot occur automatically. The One who brings about the separation of atoms is also the Supreme Being.
How can inert atoms possess the intelligence to transform themselves into countless substances?

## **If Nature Works by Laws, Who Made the Laws?**
If one says that the universe is created merely by the laws and principles of nature, the question arises: *Who established these laws in unconscious matter?*
Rules always require a ruler.
The power that establishes these laws and principles is called God.
---
## **Mutual Harmony in Creation**
Objects in the world complement each other. For example:
* Humans exhale impure air, which is useful to plants and trees.
* Plants release pure air, which sustains human life.
This mutual cooperation prevents the world from becoming a hell.
Who established this interrelationship?
The power that maintains this harmony is God.
---
## **Science and Theism Are Not Opposed**
Science merely discovers the laws of nature.
The intelligent Being who establishes these laws *is what we call God*.
Even if one accepts Darwin’s four principles—
1. Parent rule (offspring resemble parents)
2. Law of use and disuse
3. Law of overproduction
4. Survival of the fittest—
the question remains: *Who framed these laws?*
A scientist can *discover* metals but cannot *manufacture* them. Their true creator is the Supreme Being.

## **Natural Wealth Points to a Supreme Creator**
Gold, silver, iron, lead, bronze, brass, diamonds, pearls, precious stones—
these are all creations of God, not of human beings.
The infinite air, boundless water, the earth, the sun, moon, stars—
all point to a great governing Power.
A theist calls this Power *God*.

## **The Wonders of Plant Life**
The world of fruits, flowers, and herbs also amazes humanity.
* The uniform edges of neem leaves or rose petals appear perfectly cut—without any machine.
* The rose contains beautiful colour, sweet fragrance, and natural perfume inside.
These reflect the craftsmanship of an intelligent Designer.
Consider the pomegranate—
a hard outer shell, delicate membranes inside, seeds systematically arranged, each filled with sweet juice, and within each seed, the power to produce an entire tree.
A huge banyan tree grows from a tiny seed.
Such wonders reveal an extraordinary Creator.
---
## **The Diverse Forms of Living Beings**
From the tiny ant to the mighty elephant—
from insects to birds to wild animals—
their diverse forms reveal the same intelligent Creator.
Can unconscious nature exhibit such wisdom and design?
Even among five billion human beings, no two faces are exactly alike.
Is this not the handiwork of an extraordinary Artist?
---
## **The Vast and the Minute**
The earth’s circumference is said to be 25,000 miles—astonishing for a human being barely six feet tall.
Mountains tower above us in massive magnitude.
The oceans hold unimaginable quantities of water.
The sun is **1.3 million times larger** than the earth.
And there are **millions of such suns** in the universe.
Does this not point toward a wondrous Creator?
On the other hand, the minuteness of creation—from tiny insects to microscopic forms—equally points to a deliberate Designer.
---
## **The Universe Cannot Be Formed by Chance**
Some say that the world came into existence accidentally.
But *no event occurs without prior cause or arrangement.*
If one throws letters into the air, will they ever arrange themselves into the *book*?
Impossible.
A conscious, intelligent author is required.
Likewise, this universe demands an intelligent Creator.

## **If One Says Nature Creates Everything…**
People say, “Nature or *kudrat* creates everything.”
But what is nature?
If nature means natural laws, then they require a law-giver.
The Arabic word *kudrat* means “power.”
Power cannot exist without a powerful being—and that being must be conscious.
---
## **The Flaws in the Theory of Naturalism**
If atoms have a permanent nature of combining, they would never separate.
If they have a nature of separating, they would never combine.
If the two tendencies are equal, creation would neither form nor dissolve.
Thus, blind naturalism fails.
---
## **If God is Blissful, Why Create the World?**
This question applies only to limited beings, not to the omnipresent.
The blissful Supreme Being does not “enter into entanglement”; His creation is not bondage.
