**🌷 The Devotee’s Words to God 🌷**

Today I present my anguished cry to You—hear it, O Lord! It is the voice of the innermost soul of Your devotee—

---

### **Your Comforting Hand!**

*“Where is Your healing, compassionate hand, O Rudra, the hand that is medicine and remover of suffering,that dispels divine afflictions?O all powerful Ishwar, showerer of bliss, now forgive me!”*

— *(Ṛgveda 2.33.7)*

**Meaning:**

“O Destroyer of sorrow! Where is that comforting hand of Yours which removes pain and disease and bestows joy, which removes sins related to the divine? O Bestower of happiness! Please forgive me now.”

### **The Mice Are Gnawing!**

*“As mice gnaw at a rope, so do manifold mental afflictions gnaw at me, even though I am Your worshipper, O mighty One.

O Lord of wealth, O Indra, once again make us truly happym and protect us like a father.”*

— *(Ṛgveda 10.33.3)*

**Meaning:**

“O Mighty Worker! Though I am Your devotee, various mental sufferings are consuming me, just as mice gnaw at twisted threads. O Powerful Indra! Make us happy once again and protect us like a father.”

### **When Will That Day Come?**

*“When shall I commune with You with my own soul, O Varuṇa? When shall I become intimate with You? When will You graciously accept my offering? When shall I behold You with a joyful heart?”*

— *(Ṛgveda 7.86.2)*

**Meaning:**

“When will the time come when I converse with the Supreme through my own soul? When will I become dear to the Ishwar? When will He gladly accept my offering? When will I behold that Bestower of bliss with a serene mind?”

### **Tell Me That Sin!**

*“I ask You, O Varuṇa, desiring to know the sin for which I am bound. I have come to You with longing and inquiry. I have questioned the wise in many ways; all the learned tell me the same—that Varuṇa, the Supreme Lord, is displeased with me.”*

— *(Ṛgveda 7.86.3)*

**Meaning:**

“O Varuṇa, Supreme Lord! I ask You about that sin because of which I am bound. I come to You as a seeker. I have questioned the wise repeatedly, and all tell me alike that surely the Supreme Varuṇa is displeased with me.”

### **How Shall I Reach You?**

*“What is that greatest offense, O Varuṇa, that You would punish even Your devoted worshipper and dear friend?

O Inaccessible One, tell me the means by which, becoming sinless and humble in devotion, I may swiftly reach You.”*

— *(Ṛgveda 7.86.4)*

**Meaning:**

“O Varuṇa, Supreme Lord! What is that offense for which You wish to chastise even Your greatest devotee and loving friend? O Rarely Attainable One, tell me the path by which, becoming pure and humble in devotion, I may quickly reach You.”

### **In Your Protection, O Lord!**

*“No grief or sin from any quarter afflicts the one You protect; neither enemies nor deceivers overpower him. You drive away all deluders from that person whom You Yourself guard as his protector.”*

— *(Ṛgveda 2.23.5)*

**Meaning:**

“One whom You protect, O Ishwar, suffers neither sorrow nor affliction, nor is he overpowered by enemies or deceivers. You remove all forces of delusion from the one whom You Yourself guard.”

### **Take Me There, O Ishwar!**

*“Where joy and delight ever abide, where all desires of the heart are fulfilled—make me immortal there, O Ishwar,

and lead me to that realm.”*

— *(Ṛgveda 9.113.11)*

**Meaning:**

“Where joy and bliss dwell eternally, where all desires are fulfilled—O Ishwar, make me immortal and lead me there.”

### **Make Me Intoxicated with Love!**

*“O Winds, intoxicate me! O Space, make me beside myself! O Fire, inflame me with divine passion! Yes—may that Lord too yearn for me!”* 

— *(Atharvaveda 6.130.4)*

**Meaning:**

“O Winds, make me intoxicated with love! O Sky, make me lose myself! O Fire, fill me with ecstatic devotion! And may that Ishwar also become restless for me!”
